Says Gurdas Maan talking about his musical journey
Gurdas Maan who recently launched his solo album of seven songs, taking the Punjabi folk and pop music from a regional level to an international platform, talks about his journey, inspiration and more in an candid conversation.
Talking about the concept of solo album and how he got into it taking music as his profession he says, “This idea of performing solo dates back to my early days in college, when I started doing small gigs in youth festivals, it wasn’t a conscious decision, it just so happened that I performed solo, and released only solo albums.”
When asked about his journey and if there were any difficulties he faced he says, “Difficulties only come your way if you have a plan and are trying to get somewhere, but when you leave everything to him (almighty) then they are his problems. I had never imagined or aspired to be a singer, or anyone famous, it just happened. So it was god’s plan not mine, and I thank him for giving me the opportunity to reach out and connect with so many people around the world.”
The singer is very fond of traveling and he takes inspiration from people around him. Talking about the same he says, “I love travelling, and performing live for my audiences, as both these gives me inspiration to write and produce new songs. So there isn’t much difficulty in that, however sometimes it gets really hectic, especially in the winters, but then again nothing is difficult if you love doing it.”
