Dheeraj Dhoopar reacts on why his show Kundali Bhagya is different from Kumkum Bhagya
Dheeraj Dhoopar popularly known as Prem of Sasural Simar Ka is currently busy working on his show Kundali Bhagya. He is playing the male lead, the role of a cricketer in the show. Dheeraj says that Kundali Bhagya is not a spinoff of Kumkum Bhagya. In fact, it’s rather a parallel universe and should not be compared with it.
When asked if there is any kind of pressure that he faces because of Kumkum Bhagya? Dheeraj says, “No, I don’t see any pressure. I always say one thing, for an actor I think every character is a challenge. I just don’t understand the term spinoff? I don’t know why but quite a comparison has been happening. They are two different shows. There is a totally different story line, the characters are also different, and there are only a few things which are same in both the shows.”
Adding further he says, “In Kumkum Bhagya, Shabbir (Ahluwalia) and Sriti (Jha) have done a wonderful job. But this is my show, I will definitely work harder and I know that I will have to make a point in audience’s mind, that they will start excepting me that way. Up till now I am getting very good feedback. I am getting lot of love and appreciation from the audience.”
On being quizzed that whether he underwent through some special training before turning a cricketer on-screen, he says, “I have been playing cricket since my childhood and I was a captain of the school cricket team. When it comes to the body language of a cricketer, I did have that and I still have it. Yes but you know now a days, I keep watching matches whenever it happens and I am a fan of cricket. So there is no homework kind of a thing, but yes I definitely give a personal touch to the character. I play in my own style.”
