There have also been rumours about the show shutting shop, which the producer refuted
Actor Urfi Javed, who is playing the negative lead in Ravindra Gautam’s Meri Durga (Star Plus) has quit the show. The actor has not been keeping well, which is why she will no longer be part of the show.
Confirming the news, Ravindra says, “Yes, Urfi has told us about her inability to continue due to medical reasons, which is quite unfortunate. We wish her a speedy recovery. She’s also upset as it is very rarely that one gets a chance to do something so different in our TV soaps.”
However, there have also been rumours about the show shutting shop, which the producer refuted.
“We are getting a very positive response from the viewers, and it’s going strong. News about the show shutting down are totally baseless. In fact, we are gearing up towards a major turnaround in the story where Durga finds out the people responsible for giving her drugs and maligning her image in the junior national championship when she was just 14 years old,” he said.
