Secondary Education officer Kiran Lohar on Thursday stopped the salary of headmistress of Bhagheshawari Sandesh Vidhyalay in Kanur Budruk village of Chandgad tehsil of this district and freezed her bank account with immediately effect.
Ashgwini Devane, headmistress had given a punishment of squatting up and down to eighth class girl student, Vijaya Chaugule. After punishment, she got uneasy and was admitted to Chhatrapati Pramila Raje Hospital here.
The matter came to light when Chandgad MLA Sandhyadevi Kupekar, who met Tawade, an Education Minister at secretariat in Nagpur during the assembly session on Wednesday and sought to take stern action against Devene for her inhuman punishment to the girl.
Tawade immediately ordered Lohar to take action against her withholding her salary and her bank account. Incidentally, the said girl is the daughter of a peon, who employed in the same school.
On November 24, Devne asked her and other students to complete a project on Hindi subject, but Vijaya forget her notebook of the project at her home, so Devane punished Vijaya to squat and rise for 500 times.
Dr Jayprakash Ramanand, dean of Rajarshree Shahu Maharaj Government medical college said, Vijay has suffered a mentally shock of inhuman punishment and she was in stable state now and we would try our best to make well her with medical treatment.
Meanwhile, a case has been registered IPC section 325,337,323 and 506, and she is likely to arrest today, police said.
