Saumya Tandon speaks about experimenting with her roles, controversy surrounding Shilpa Shinde and more
Saumya Tandon aka Anita Bhabhi of popular comedy show Bhabiji Ghar Par Hai! finds small budget movies very interesting and says she would like to do something with an exciting story, a character that is challenging or a role that gives her more scope to act. She says she is waiting for an opportunity to experiment and do interesting stuff as an actor.
“Small Budget films are coming up more lately. Recently, I saw a very interesting Malayalam film. All these small budget movies are very experimental and more challenging. I would love to do something like Sairat.”
The actress says when she was young she wanted to become a writer. She started writing from the age of six. She used to write poems and most of her works got published too. Between the age of six to sixteen she use to go to various radio stations to recite her poems. She says her inclination towards writing makes her focus more over the script than anything else whenever she signs a new project. So if there is something with a good script she would definitely like to work over it.
Commenting about the claim made by Shilpa Shinde, of sexual harassment against the show’s producer Sanjay Kohli, Saumya said, “I was not aware about it. I am the kind of a girl who will not accept something like this myself and I completely stand against it if anything like that happen to a girl. I was completely unaware. She never communicated to me and whether this is true or not only court of law can decide.”
