Zafar Alam Khan | Bhopal  The political duo of sadhvis from Madhya Pradesh former chief minister Uma Bharti and sitting Member of Parliament from Bhopal Pragya Thakur have extended support to Bollywood actoress Kangana Ranaut whose face-off with the Maharashtra government has been making headlines. Bharti speaking in Tikamgarh on Thursday condemned the BMC action of demolition Kangana’s property in Mumbai and said it was an act of political vendetta. She said Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray has lowered the dignity of his father and Shiv Sena founder late Balasaheb Thackeray by indulging in such an act. She added that Uddhav Thackeray has also undermined the reputation of BMC and Mumbai through the action. Meanwhile, Pragya Thakur, who is habitual of making controversial statements, said in Bhopal that women should be respected, but stopped short of blaming the Shiv Sena directly in the entire episode and even added that late Bala Saheb had helped her. She put the entire blame on the Congress, saying the Maharashtra government’s action was at the behest of Congress that also held the home portfolio. She trained guns on Mumbai police commissioner Param Bir Singh too, saying Singh can’t do justice to anyone and that he had been grossly unjust to her too. Pragya Thakur had a brush with Singh when the latter was the additional commissioner of police (antiterrorism squad) of Maharashtra and Thakur was arrested in the Malegaon blast case in the year 2008. Pragya has in past accused Param Bir Singh of torturing her mercilessly for days while in ATS custody. Thakur also raked up the Palghar lynching incident of Hindu seers of April this year and said she will write to the National Investigation Agency (NIA) to take up the probe of the case.
