Los Angeles: Emma Stone’s role in the upcoming live action Cruella De Vil film is reportedly hanging in the balance after the actress broke her shoulder at the Spice Girls reunion concert.
The La La Land star, 30, is said to have suffered the injury after falling from her friend’s shoulders during the energetic show at Wembley Stadium.
It was also claimed that Emma was due to start filming the live action Cruella De Vil this summer, but has been told by doctors she must rest for up to two months.
She’s gutted about such a serious injury. She needs to be in top physical condition for the role, which is active and involves running around after dogs.’While some believe the slip-up occurred at the concert, People report that Emma slipped over at a home – although it is uncertain whether she was at a friend’s house or the London home in which she is currently residing.
The source also claimed that Emma had moved to London for the summer as she prepared to film Cruella, which would act as a prequel to the classic 101 Dalmatians.
Cruella is of course the villainous fur-lover determined to steal the puppies to create a dalmatian skin coat, and was famously played by Glenn Close in a 1996 live action film.
It comes after Spice Girls superfan Emma finally met the iconic band at their reunion show earlier this month, as she came to face-to-face with Emma Bunton.
The Hollywood actress looked uncharacteristically star-struck as she posed for a photo with ‘Baby Spice’, shortly before she took to the stage.
