Abhinav Tyagi aka Chintu (Kartik Aaryan) is a government employee in Kanpur. He is married to Vedika (Bhumi Pednekar). The couple is a happy family enjoying marital bliss. Chintu’s life takes a twist when Tapasya Singh (Ananya Panday) enters the scene. He is attracted instantly to Tapasya and wants to spend more and more time with her. Tapasya is in Kanpur to look for a plot. She wants it for her boutique in Delhi. Chintu cooks up a story to be closer to Tapasya and thus the problems begin. Things go out of control and confusion and drama is created.
The film is comedy by the same name released in 1978. Story has modern touch to old story plots. Kartik Aaryan has once again proved his talent. He is superb in comedy. Bhumi Pednekar is very good in her glamorous teacher’s role. She has once again proved her talent in a very different role. Ananya Panday has improved a lot since her last debut release ‘Student Of The Year 2’. She is good in her acting as the third main character of the story. Aparshakti Khurana, Rajesh Sharma and other supporting cast have done their part well.
Filmmaker Mudassar Aziz has earlier directed films ‘Happy Bhaag Jayegi’ (2016) and ‘Happy Phirr Bhaag Jayegi’ (2018). He proved himself in these films and once again he has shown his talent as expert in romantic comedy films. There are two special appearances and a throwback to the original film, when Kartik repeats the old popular song ‘Thande thande paani se’.
This film is a good entertainment and a good treat for weekend.
