His last rites were head earlier today at the Vile Parle Hindu cremation ground near the Juhu airport.

Veteran actor Amitabh Bachchan and Jaya Bachchan were seen making their way to pay their last respects to the Santoor player. Big B with folded hands met Pandit Shiv Kumar Sharma’s family members. Javed Akhtar too was snapped after Big-B. He too came in and paid his last respect.

Celebrities like Shabana Azmi, Ila Arun and Hariharan were also snapped paying homage to the music maestro.

Sharma’s family released a statement that read, “He had a severe heart attack at around 9am… He was active and was to perform in Bhopal next week. He was on regular dialysis but was still active.”

Meanwhile, PM Narendra Modi too offered his condolences on the demise of Pt. Shivkumar Sharma in a tweet.
