Mumbai: Sidhu Moose Wala was a well-known performer who was involved in both Punjabi music and movies.
On Sunday, May 29, Punjabi artist Sidhu Moose Wala was shot dead in a hamlet in Punjab’s Mansa district.
He rose to prominence in 2017 with his single ‘So High.’ His debut album debuted at number 66 on the Billboard Canadian Albums Chart in 2018. He was selected as one of The Guardian’s “50 New Artists for 2020” in 2020.
Celebrities went to social media to express their grief at his loss. Vicky Kaushal and Ranveer Singh said on Instagram, “Dil da na maada.” Writer Varun Grover said, “Unreal. Tragic”. The incident happened a day after Moose Wala’s protection was removed, according to filmmaker Ashoke Pandit.
Aside from these celebrities, others such as Zareen Khan, Armaan Malik, Kapil Sharma, and Shehnaaz Kaur Gill flocked to social media to express their sorrow over the tragedy.
