Kritika Kamra on facing discrimination: The industry box you in many different things and you have to keep breaking them

After winning hearts in the telly world with shows like Kitani Mohabbat Hai, Kuch Toh Log Kahenge, and Reporters amongst others, Kritika made her big switch to Bollywood with Jackky Bhagnani-starrer Mitron. More recently, the actress grabbed everyone’s attention with her act in Tandav and Kaun Banega Shikharwati. She is all set to feature in Tanuja Chandra’s Hush Hush.

Talking about her transition from TV to films and now OTT, the actress said, “The transition is not about switching from one medium to another, it’s about widening the horizon. Although it has not been easy, but all I look forward to is doing more work.”

She further shared about stereotypes and discrimination she had to face because she belongs from TV background.
“There have been certain stereotypes but for good. TV as a medium does differ in some way so I don’t blame people for categorising it. Since our world is image-driven I have faced discrimination. But things are drastically becoming better now because of the authenticity in casting. In recent times we can see some projects having an ensemble cast but not appealing to the audience. Whereas there are shows which do not have famous faces but are appreciated by the audience. So the industry has many boxes. They box you in many different things and you have to keep breaking them.”

Touted to be a suspense-thriller, the series also star Juhi Chawla, Ayesha Jhulka, Soha Ali Khan Pataudi, Shahana Goswami, and Karishma Tanna in the lead roles.
