Pooja Dhingra, who is a renowned chef and a writer, states that she is no celebrity when it comes to cooking
Pooja Dhingra is an Indian pastry chef and businesswoman. She is the owner of macaroon bakery chain Le 15 Patisserie in Mumbai, including the first macaroon store in India. Apart from that, her first cookbook, The Big Book of Treats, is a gift to Indian home bakers. Written with a professional’s exacting eye and a home chef’s ability to improvise, it teaches you how to make everything from cookies to be had with your masala chai, to birthday cakes.
You inspired many young cooks through your book. Are you planning to become a professional writer?
My second cookbook was launched earlier this year, and I have already begun work on my third. I enjoy writing; especially about food and travel so I suppose that makes me a writer too.
You have many achievements in your kitty. Will we be seeing you judging a show anytime soon?
I hope so!
Tell us one of your favourite dishes?
Anything with chocolate does the job for me.
What is your first preference, vegetarian food or non-vegetarian food?
I prefer non-veg food but I do enjoy eating my greens too.
You’re a celebrity yourself, is it difficult to manage the kitchen beings?
Well, to my team I’m no celebrity. It’s usually just another for us in kitchen where work carries on as usual.
How do you find time for your passion?
I find that it’s not impossible to carve out time in the day for things I want to accomplish if I plan.
