Bhopal performers bag 9 top prizes in state level youth fest

Bhopal artists bagged nine top prizes, including four first prizes, three second prizes and two third prizes, in a total of 13 events organised at the first State Level Youth Festival that concluded here on Tuesday.

Bhopal artists bagged nine top prizes, including four first prizes, three second prizes and two third prizes, in a total of 13 events organised at the first State Level Youth Festival that concluded here on Tuesday.

In the folk song competition the first prize was won by artists from Rewa division, Bhopal stood in the second place and Ujjain division won third prize. In the mono acting artists from Indore division got first place, Gwalior division stood second and Sagar division remained third.

In the Kathak competition, Shubham Sikarwar of Indore division got first prize, Ankita Ginara from Jabalpur stood second and Ishita Lal of Bhopal division got third prize. In Bharatnatyam Harshita Shukla of Bhopal was the first, Shivangi from Rewa division stood second and Niharika Joshi of Indore division remained at third place.

On the concluding day of the festival organised by Directorate of Sports and Youth Welfare, Madhya Pradesh at Shaheed Bawan, Prashan Academy and Manas Bhawan, sports minister Yashodhara Raje Scindia awarded the winners for their outstanding participation.

Scindia said the youth festival is being organized to empower the rural talent in the field of art and give them adequate opportunity for performing arts. She also said that from now the youth festival will be organise twice a year, so that maximum children can take the advantage of the talent show. And if necessary, it can be organized three times a year as every effort will be made to give talents a substantial platform. She also encouraged young artists to refine their talent and said that it should be our aim to get more medals in the National Youth Festival in MP.
