Absconding sand mafia and police station in-charge caught on camera establishes how a nexus is operating sand mining business in Bhind. These allegations were made by Congress MLA from Ater of Bhind district.
Hemant Katare, MLA from Ater Bhind told media persons on Wednesday that a known and absconding criminal who is wanted in several cases of heinous crime could be seen sitting with station in-charge of a police station with utmost respect whereas he should have been arrested, put behind bars after taking him to court. Katare also distributed a CD (Compact Disc) to media persons where sand mafia and absconder Raman Singh Bhadoria could be seen welcoming and sharing light moments with a sub-inspector and station in-charge of the police station.
“Even the Superintendent of Police of Bhind is in know-how of things; it seems SP has his consent in it. But still I demand SP to constitute inquiry in the case and take necessary action, which means arrest of the wanted criminal,” said Katare, talking to media.
Ater police is registering fake cases against innocent people of the place. Katare said that he has ample of solid evidences to prove his allegation. Either senior officials should take action else they would approach court to provide relief to the victims, added Katare.
Hemant Katare addressed the media in presence of Congress district office bearers. District Congress president, Ramesh Dubey alleged that auction of police stations is being conducted to give postings the station in-charge. Sale of drugs and illegal liquor is rampant under police protection.
Katare informed that he won’t let the issue of law and order let go like this. A protest rally and sit-in would be organised on August 21 which would mark presence of Congress MLAs from adjoining constituencies as well. He hinted that senior congress office bearers too could join the protest.
Earlier some BJP MLAs including RD Prajapati took on his own government during recent Assembly session on illegal sand mining issue. Prajapati representing Chandla constituency of Chhatarpur district alleged that about 1000 trucks ferry illegally mined sand from the Ken river daily.
Another BJP MLA Bahadur Singh Chauhan too had raised the issue of illegal sand mining in Ujjain and had indicated that district mining officer doesn’t take action against the unauthorised activities. Earlier when Chouhan had raised the issue in the House, a case was registered but government officials have taken no interest in pursuing the case to punish the guilty, Chauhan had said.
Several claims have been made by the chief minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan on the issue of illegal sand mining in the state but illegal mining is going on unabated, KK Mishra had said earlier.
