Un-Wrinkle your Wrinkles

Ultraviolet rays showered by Sun on people also tend to speed up the natural aging process. Over exposure to the UV rays breaks down the skin’s connective tissue thereby promoting wrinkles. Smoking too accelerates the normal aging process and contributes to less blood pressure in skin besides leaving behind wrinkles.

As time does not wait for anyone, so does the age. Skin is one such part of the body which throws light on a person’s age. Wrinkles are lines and creases on face which crop up on the surface of skin. Some wrinkles can become deep gaps on the skin and are usually visible around the eyes, mouth and neck. Wrinkles are caused by a combination of various factors of which some can be controlled while some cannot be captured. As one cannot stop the age from moving forward, one cannot stop wrinkles from appearing on the face. When we grow older, skin naturally looses its elasticity and tends to be more fragile. Decrease in production of natural oil makes skin wrinkled. Fat in the deeper layers of skin diminishes and makes a skin loose and saggy thereby causing the wrinkles to be more visible.

There are several ways to lessen wrinkles and women today yearn for glowing skin all the time. Retinoid creams minimize the appearance of wrinkles and also slow the breakdown of collagen (a type of protein) which helps skin to be firm and assists in lighting brown spots caused by sun exposure. The cream prompts the surface skin cells to turn over and die rapidly, making way for new cell growth under the skin. They also slow down the production of melanin (pigment that gives colour to skin) on the skin.

Laser resurfacing is another treatment to reduce facial wrinkles and skin blemishes, acne scars. This techniques directs short, pulsating beams of light on irregular and uneven skin precisely removing skin layer and layer. This technique is also called as laser peel or laser vaporization. There are basically two types of laser treatments for wrinkles. One of them is CO2 Laser resurfacing in which very short pulsed light energy or continuous light beams are delivered to remove thin layers of skin with minimal heat damage. The other is Erbium Laser Resurfacing which is designed to remove surface leveled or deeper lines on face, hands, Neck, Chest.

One of the benefits of this type of laser treatment is that it reduces the minimal burning of surrounding tissues. This treatment may cause certain swelling, bruising and redness etc. People with a little darker skin tone will find this erbium treatment more effective and beneficial.

Experts say that polyphenol found in green tea inhibit those collagen-destroying cells. Lutein, a carotenoid found in green leafy vegetables like broccoli and peas, spinach and other leafy vegetables also helps to power down wrinkles.
