NCP threatens media of legal action

Media trying to defame us, says NCP

Sharad Pawar led National Congress Party (NCP) miffed on the media as its name has been reported in connection with an extortion case, along with Iqbal Kaskar, the brother of fugitive underworld don Dawood Ibrahim. NCP leader and spokesperson Nawab Malik on Thursday threatened that if news channels, which telecast the news to defame the party, don’t apologize, the party will take legal action against such news channels.

Addressing a press conference in NCP office on Thursday, Malik said that after arrest of the Kaskar by Thane crime branch, Thane Police
Commissioner Param Bir Singh addressed the media but Singh didn’t take name of any corporators of the party. Despite of this, the news channels had telecast factually wrong news, in bid to damage the image of the party. Malik said that the legal teams of the party are scrutinizing news clips of the 40 news channels. If they did not apologize, legal action will be initiated against them.
