The first day of the second season of Gaana Windmill Festival – ‘India’s First International Children’s Festival’ powered by Lodha Belmondo, co-powered by India Gate Brown Basmati Rice and co-sponsored by Cadbury Dairy Milk Lickables was held at Jio Garden, BKC in Mumbai.
The festival was inaugurated by the Youth Icon Aaditya Thackeray. He was accompanied by 200 students from various BMC aided schools across the city who spent a day at the festival and explored various activities and workshop specially curated for the children.
The festival commenced with an inauguration ceremony and was followed by families exploring various workshops specially curated for them .The first 4 hours of the festival the kids had a wholesome experience of various activities like music, art, dance, aeronautical, scientific innovations etc. For those with a scientific bend of mind, there were workshops on how to make fidget spinners, solar cookers and telescopes, while those into sports tried their hand at volleyball, basketball and rugby. There was dad’s garage equipped with bikes where Dad’s had great time and moms, however, were deported to the mom’s arena salon where they pampered themselves. India’s first petting zoo was also the part of the Windmill Festival.
In the last two hours of the festival the concert arena of the festival was taken over by toons from Sony YAY! – India’s leading kids entertainment channel – Guru Aur Bhole, followed Learning curve and special performances by Raaga trippin’, Darshan Raval and Bhavya Pandit.
Speaking about the success of day one of the festival, Mr. Swaroop Banerjee, CEO, Event Capital, said, “What a start to this edition of the Windmill festival! We are so overwhelmed to see such a massive response. All the attendees seemed to enjoy the workshops. The petting zoo was a big hit. Overall, the vibe of day one of the festival has been unforgettable. We are looking forward to seeing what tomorrow holds. ”
The second day of the festival will see some more performances of artistes like Arjun Kanungo, Akasa Singh and Vipin Heero and some MAD stuff with TV personality Rob.
