After successfully organizing ‘Sanjhi Virasat Bachao’ (save composite culture) campaign in New Delhi, Rajasthan and Indore by Janata Dal (United) leader Sharad Yadav, a mega-event of the same will be held in Mumbai on 27th October. The opposition parties in Maharashtra will be brought on a single platform through the Sanjhi Virasat Bachao. Yadav wants to unite the opposition parties against Prime Minister Narendra Modi led central government.
The event is being organised on the direction of All India Congress Committee (AICC), by the Mumbai Congress chief Sanjay Nirupam. The event will be attended by the Congress leader Anand Sharma, CPI(M) leader Sitaram Yechury, Swabhimani Shetkari Sanghatana president Raju Shetty, NCP leader Ajit Pawar along with RJD and Samajwadi Party leaders and Maharashtra Congress president Ashok Chavan.
Speaking with Absolute India, Mumbai Congress chief Sanjay Nirupam said, “Since BJP led government came into power at center, they have tried to divide the country and give communal colour to our Virasat (legacy). This event is organised against the government’s approach towards our legacy. The Country belongs to everyone. It has six religions and 1500 dialects and languages and around 6500 castes. One can’t pinpoint that it belongs to the particular class or caste or religion. We have to preserve our composite culture.Hence, this event is organised in Mumbai.”
Mumbai Congress chief alleged that the BJP is hatching a conspiracy to destroy the legacy of the country. JD (U) Maharashtra president Kapil Patil told Absolute India on Saturday, “Saffron governments at the center and state are suppressing the voice of the common people, hence, this mega event is being organised by our leader Sharad Yadav across the country. As a part of this campaign, a programme will be held in Sanmukhand hall on Friday.”
