Director: Ashok Nanda
Cast: Anupam Kher, Kumud Mishra and Esha Gupta
Veteran actor Anupam Kher plays Justice Tyagi, who turns vigilante upon retirement. Tyagi is an upright legal expert but takes a mission after retirement. He decides to go for a mission to get confession from all those criminals released due to lack of evidence in his court. Esha Gupta plays the cop Rathi from Ranchi . She is introduced as a seductive dancer in a nightclub in Kolkata. She is part of an undercover operation to nab a criminal present in that nightclub. Tyagi kidnaps the criminals in the night and gets their confessions. Justice prevails in the end with many turns of events.
There are many scenes which are not very convincing. Kher and Kumud Mishra try to take the movie ahead but the plot is not up to mark. The ageing Justice Tyagi as a scheming vigilante ,who’s a complete family man by day but moonlights as an avenging superhero intermittently isn’t convincing. How he gets away with kidnapping so many men without raising any suspicion remains a mystery. Kher and Mishra could do nothing with weak story line. Kher’s dark side as a disillusioned judge who takes law onto his own hands isn’t fully fleshed out. On the bright side, there’s an interesting twist in the climax, but it’s too little too late. The direction is not up to mark with many loop holes.
Those with passion for crime thrillers can take chance; otherwise it is not worth giving a chance.
